The Art exhibition absorb their works sort of social sculpture N.2 is a second installment of the show by the same title at 3RDEYE(SOL) Gallery in 2013. This year it is part of Bushwick Open Studios 2014, in Brooklyn, NY - courtesy of its director Jose Castillo. The exhibition is curated jointly by artist/curator Emil Memon and curator Kyoko Sato Ono.

The idea for the present show, just as that of last year’s installment, touches on the theme of social sculpture. Art as social sculpture may be able to reshape or “sculpt” the social fabric, transform and energize objects, people and structures. It is a form of life energy, a current that connects people and things, actual and virtual. As such - the curators of this exhibition propose - Art has the power to change society. Joseph Beuys saw Jackson Pollock’s paintings as pure energy. In the present exhibition, the curators approach the works in it as manifestations of pure energy, where each piece emanates a force that informs and reinforces all the others.

3RDEYE(SOL) gallery is a vital part of its surrounding community, on the border of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy. It offers art programs for the children of the neighborhood, and provides a space for young local artists’ music and art performances. This engagement with the community is exemplary of the idea underlying the present show.
